V-Strom 1000 2014 vs Versys 1000 2014

Hi all,

I will try both bike back to back on sunday.

I can't wait...

I will post a reply with my opinion of the two.

I know Versys 1000 is not available in the US but that will at least give some kind of idea of the differences between the two.

As a good motorcyclist I always wake up on the kick stand !!!

'04 Suzuki DL650 (mine, love it)
'04 Suzuki GS500F (the wife's)
'02 Kawasaki ZR-7S (previous)
'88 Honda VF750F Interceptor (first big thrills)
'96 Suzuki GN125 (helped learning the limits)
'76 Velosolex (the two wheeler with an engine my dad authorized... Still had fun with it)

I will be interested to see what u think after riding both. I'm sure the Versys is nice but I just like the Vtwin as opposed to an I4.

I have no desire for another inline 4, but the new Versys does look like a nice overall package.

The versys will have more get up and go, and handle more like a street bike thanks to the 17 inch tire. Report back

Versys in US?

Does anyone know if they plan to release in the US? If so, when?

If they are in Canada, then I am betting it won't be long. I would like to try that out. I just sold my DL650 and would like to try both out.

In the meantime, I bought a rocket...a Ducati MultiStrada with Waaay more power than you need. Easy power wheelies thru at least 3 gears in Touring (not even Sport) mode..crazy fast. Handling and braking well...Ducati..fantastic. It may spoil me for other bikes and it is hideously expensive..
