2014+ 1000 Electrical

Sweet.

Just noticed this. 7.5A fused off the battery. Perfect for my battery tender or heated vest or something.

Of course, I suspect someone will now tell me that every V-Strom since day one has come with this connection!

That looks dealer installed to me.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

Will be putting my order in for Oxfords and Barkbusters today. Love to know who gets the tank off first to tell me there is a heated grip connection under there.

It most definitely is. It's not stock. I know because that's exactly the same place and the same way I installed the wiring for my Gerbings heated gloves, with the exception that the connector is pointed up to make plugging it in and out easier while on the bike (and if I get off without disconnecting it,. it will pull out easily). Maybe the dealer did a shakedown ride while wearing heated gear?

PowerLet Socket Installed

This is a picture of the Power Let Socket I installed a couple weeks after acquiring the bike. Simple install and now can keep on Optimizer and hook up for heated gear.

FastLane

I mounted a rearset Powerlet on my Bandit like this and it looked and operated greet. I like the positive click-in with the Powerlet.

As to mine, no clue why the dealer would have given me that for free. I shall find out......either way, free is good.

Phil at the dealership where I live ,they have been installing the connection for the optimizer supplied by Honda on all there bikes at reduced price, like almost free This gives you a 12v connection to the battery plus you can maintain it while not in use ..A great idea by the dealer I would say, sometimes I feel there is too much dealer bashing on this site, there are good ones out there too

Sometimes making a wrong turn just makes the ride that much better ,,, go an extra mile it`s not so crowded there!

Per my dealer......

"That is a battery tender lead for a battery tender charger. We install those on every new bike, atv and side by side we sell free of charge!!"
