I am so envious of you two. Those bikes look fantastic and your adventure is bound to be amazing

Godspeed on your journey and noble cause.

Besten Wünsche und eine sichere Reise.

You must have read my mind.
Glad to see this, and a good cause.

Welcome aboard Mirko

I hope you don't mind me posting those pics here, I just thought that they are way too cool to not share with fellow V-Strom enthusiasts

Bikes look great, and I hope they serve you well in your epic journey with such a good cause.

I will be making a donation to your kilometers traveled

I am looking forward to following your trip and seeing how the new 1000 performs, I bet they will take you there and back again easily.

Great helmets as well! I recently got the X-551 helmet & BX4 N-Com Intercom kit and love it!

I want to love it. But it has no ground clearance. I'm sure suitable frame mounted skid plates will be available but they will reduce it still further. I like my Hyde Racing plastic guard on my 650 but the spaghetti junction of exhaust on the 1000A doesn't help that style.

I have to agree.
the new strom will be a great road bike, and could be used for light duty off roading..but that's about it.

M.I.O - I see you have fitted Mitas E07 tyres. They are self cleaning treads and in clay/Mud you may want to modify the front guard and lift it 50mm. Bad error by Suzuki because once the arch becomes clogged the wheel will stop rotation and down you go, Hard.
Other than that I know that mechanically the brakes, suspension, motor and gearbox will outlive your journey, so have a safe journey with lots of feed back.
I'm envious
