Stuck Seat

I went remove my seat and the release appears to have got disconnected somehow. Key turns but I can't pull the seat up. I'm scratching my head on how to get it off. Anyone got any ideas? 2004 v1000.

Thanks,
Chris

You need to look for and fish for the unlock cable and try to pull on it. Can't remember how difficult it is to see from underneath.

You are not the first with the problem:

After some fiddling I found if you pull up on the back of the seat you can see the lock and the space is just big enough to get your hand in and push the latch to the side releasing the seat. Guess our seats aren't all that secure.....

Tomorrow I'll figure out why it isn't working but it appears to be on the other end - under the tail light...

I pulled the rear plastic off. As I thought the pull cable anchor point had come out of its anchor point. I was in there working on some lighting wiring a few weeks ago and must have pulled it off. All fixed now. And it good to know you can release the seat manually too.
