My $800 Rat Strom, no bodywork, no buffet

Hi all I’ve been lurking here a while and learned much, so thank you.
I bought this thrashed 2002 and have been through almost everything by now; stator, Werks clutch basket, fuel injectors, new wheel bearings, chain, sprockets and more .
I’ll be posting some more about what I learned along the way soon.
I wanted to point out my latest upgrade, a tall windscreen I made from Lexan from Home Depot.
The bike came with the side panels gone, no mirrors and worthless cheap turn signals. I have no intention of spending any money on bodywork because I’m cheap but also because I suffer none of the buffeting others complain of here.
I have clean air well above helmet level.
This mod, the Werks clutch basket and Yosh box idle 2% rich have made this the sweetest ride I’ve ever had.

Good deal.

The WERKS clutch basket repair is very worth while.

Enjoy the ride.

Welcome...I have an 03 that I have removed the plastics from as they were damaged over the years. Keep an eye on the plastic overflow reservoir. The exposure to sunlight will make it brittle. I replaced mine with a stainless fuel can.

Thanks, I bought it from a guy who won it in a poker game, it was pretty sad with what looked like the original rear tire.
The guys wife wanted it out of the garage, which to me is the signal to lowball! He was asking $1100 down from $2200 over many weeks sitting on Craigís list.
