New seat day

I decided to start with a Sargent seat mostly because of their 30 day return policy.

First impressions out of the box. Nice looking but kinda looks like an old fashion tractor seat the way its shaped. Put it on the bike. Looks really nice, I'm impressed. Sitting on it. Defiantly feel like I have a spot now where by butt goes. On the stock seat you can slide fore, aft and all around with no home. Had to go for a ride right away. I feel just a little lower on this seat. Not much but a little. Going straight down the road it feels amazing. I really feel connected to the bike with it. Cornering is a different feel. I stay right in my spot where I think with the stock seat I slid over to the inside just a little. That will take a little getting used it. But I feel like I'm glued to the bike on this thing.

Saturday I have a 200 mi road trip planned so we will see how it performs. After 150 on the stock seat I almost rode the last 30 miles standing up I couldn't sit on it anymore.

My '04 came with a Sargent seat. Most comfortable and supportive thing I've ever sat in on a motorcycle! First time I was ever able to ride more than 1.5hrs in a day. Hope you like yours as much!!

I have the same seat and like it a lot. I bought mine super cheap on CL, the factory seat I frequently felt like I was sliding forward, on the Sargent seat I am more planted. You are still able to adjust and on longer rides I like to slide myself back so I am planted against the step up portion. Its a bit narrower in the front and allows me a little better position (can't flat foot but pretty close). I road for 3 1/2 hours or so last weekend and had zero issues with the seat.

I have one for sale on local Craigslist for $120...just don't need it. Small tear about 1/4" long, tapped over. Looks like new other than that.
Anyone in the Portland Oregon area should look this up if interested.

I believe the 650 and 1000 have the same seat for those years.

Well there ya go...Thanks. I'll put this in the for sale section once I hit 20 posts. Just picked up a 2009 wee with 6k on the clock. Having a blast, really fun bike.
