DL 1000 Kickstand Foot -1st Gen to 2nd Gen Changes??

I am searching for an aftermarket kickstand pad for my 2006 DL 1000. I have found some aftermarket pads for 2nd generation DL 1000, but none for 1st gen.

1. Does anyone have a referral for a good first gen after market pad?
2. Does anyone know how much difference between the 1st and 2nd gen factory kickstand foot?

As far as I know, we are the only company to have solved this particular challenge. And boy was it ever challenging. I gave up for good at least three times. In the end, as it almost always is, the solution was simple.

I have decided not to purchase/add a center stand. Have gone the paddock route. If the center stand was the primary difficulty in sourcing an after-market kickstand pad on the 1st gen DL1000 does that open other possibilities without the center stand?

Maybe., but it seems unlikely.

The closeness of the center stand to the side stand is the major limitations to designing a bolt on stand. Once that limitation is removed it is easier to design a side stand foot that would fit. However, it will need to be designed for that particular very small side stand foot.

Back when I was being asked to come up with a solution there was no one making a foot for that bike. And as you know that bike sorely needs a larger side stand foot. Most of the European companies need large quantities and higher prices to offset high overheads and support retailers, and center stands are part of the largest population. The Chinese, just need large quantities. So it seems unlikely another foot exists that will fit. But if you look long enough, and try enough of them, you might find one that works without the center stand.
