Whatta Pain in the Gas

started the beast up today to go run some errands and was met with this within seconds

mind you, it's only been a few years since i replaced the oh so ridiculous little piece of fuel hose. if this were anything other than a suzuki, i'd be surprised by the absolute shyte design.

I've yet to experience this event with a 15 year old Wee. I know it could happen but how long does your bike sit between running to keep the hoses wet and supple?

not sure that running the bike affects the little fuel hose for better or worse, since the fuel sits in it during down time. this is the small piece of hose between two metal tubes that fails fairly regularly on V's.

sadly, my bike is quite the garage queen.

Yah, those Garage Queens can suffer from disuse. I've got a friend that has maybe 15-20 bikes in his garage that get ridden little or not at all.
I've had as many a 7 at one time. No mo!

At least the beast was nice enough to act out at home and not out in public. I am not a licensed moto phycologist but it seems to me the beast is acting out as a way of trying to gain more attention from you.

I feel bad owning two bikes because one inevitably sits more than the other.

Agreed. I had 9 at one time and the 2 or 3 closest to the garage door got the miles while the others sat. Now if it doesn't get a minimum 1,000 miles a year (save for the pups DL650 sidecar rig) it gets sold.

"minimum 1,000 miles a year"
I had a Isuzu Trooper that sat a lot. When I got the smog notice I realized I had driven it less than 500 miles in 2 years. I gave it to the son-in -law.
Why keep stuff one does not use?

so, i'm not making excuses, yes i am. i live in miami 1/2 time. the riding here sucks. straight, flat, hot and boring. 1/2 the year it's so bloody hot that within two miles, i'm soaked. so not much incentive to get out and ride.

i bought the big bitch for a south american ride that has not materialized due to life, you know, work, $$$ kids etc.
