Chek message driving me nuts

I've read everything I can find and still no luck. This started the other day. I installed eastern beaver H4 kit and longer control wires. The bike starts and runs fine but as I ride the chek flickers on and off as I go down the road. I took all the connections apart and made sure they were seated properly. The side stand switch kills the engine if I put it down. I'm at a loss of where to look next.

Thanks for any ideas,
Chris

make sure your battery terminals are clean and tight

With the H4 kit did you tap into a wire. Perhaps the wire you tapped into is part of the "CHECK" loop.

I have never had your model bike but on the stroms I have had the check is linked to the kill switch, the side stand switch and the ignition power fuse circuit.

I would not rule out the side stand switch as it can move over a bump but with momentum not stall the bike, use a strap to hold the stand up and test ride it, that is a quick and easy test to rule out the switch.

Other than that you are looking at your ignition and power systems, start at the battery because cables do work loose often on bikes then look to any changes you have made, like did you move the tilt switch, if the problem was not there before it is most likely you caused the problem.

Battery terminals check. Also the ignition fuse is good.
The H4 kit plugs in to a headlight socket on one side or another then in to the battery and the headlights. the other headlight socket I taped up.

One other thing I forgot to mention and I don't know if it is related is my neutral light is hit and hiss if it comes on....

Sorry Rolex we were typing at the same time.

I'm pretty sure it is something I did. Just tracing it down is whats driving me nuts. With it idling in the center stand and the kick stand up I still get it so that rules out a bouncing kickstand.

I found one post I have been thinking about. If the bike continues to run then the ECM is getting the message that everything is good to run. Somewhere between the ECM and the control panel something is getting messed up. I had seen lots of posts about putting silicon grease on all the up front electrical connections because they short easily, which I did. I'm wondering if I'm not getting a reliable connection now because of it. Hummmmm....

Update. Operating under the theory the plug to the instrument cluster might be having a connection problem because of the silicon grease I put on the connectors I disconnected the connectors and sprayed them with brake cleaner and compressed air. Alas this morning its still doing it. Back to the drawing board.

I think I have narrowed it down to the front instrument cluster connection. I was sitting on it and watching the neutral light. If I grab the connector and move the wires on the back of either side the light will go on and off. I'm thinking of putting in a new connector to fix the problem. I'm thinking this one:
