well, my Vstrom had a leaking problem since I bought it used in 2017 , but it was like one drop evry now and then, after that the leaking increased.
some thing like two month ago after a long ride after feeling some grinding inside the engine box , it start leaking so bad that rear tire and brakes were soaked , and smoke coming from the burned oil on front exhast so that at stop sign cars would hunk to notify me.
to make the story short , my local mechanic found out the bawl bearing was exploded at left side , so needed to split the engine, then found the second gear and 6th gear had some damage too.
Then gave me the option of engine swap or replacing the parts.the cost of old engine swap was almost the same as
repolacing the parts , but they could not locate engine with good waranty,and told used transsmision parts from ebay also have no waranaty despite the inspection, so I opted to order new parts . Now beside waiting from parts to arrive from Japan for 2 monthg < iam gonne spend more than what I spent on bike when I first bought it. shows How much I enjoy riding this bike .I have three other New Hondas including Africa Twin DCT, but none of them is MY 2008 DL 1000.
