Need help with warm up issue

I'm hoping someone can help me with my issue. I just completed a 1300 mile trip in 4 days. The weather got pretty hot toward the end and I found my 2004 V-strom 1000 would start, but wouldn't idle properly during warmup. Infact, it died a couple times until I had it sufficiently warmed up. I've since had the same issue whenever I start it. The only thing that has changed is that the weather has been exceptionally warm lately. Any ideas on what I should look for before I have to throw in the towel and take it to the dealer?

It sounds like you have a problem with the fast (cold) idle circuit needs adjustment if it only dies when the engine is cold in cold weather. First ensure that your warm (slow) idle is set to between 1100-1300rpm. Next step is the cold (fast) idle adjustment, but set with a cold engine,,7512.0.html.

I would add that the engine hot idle should be at 1300 rpm.

This cures all sorts of issues on those bikes.
