Seat "Skins" Relace/Recover - DL1000 - 1st gen

I am a new owner of a 2006 DL1000. Very quickly falling in love with this model and looking to make upgrades. I have noticed many seats of this vintage are showing cracks and separation of vinyl at stress points as mine. I am in the marine canvas business so am aware "seat skins" are available for economical replacement of OEM seat covers for boats. When searching for Vstrom seat skin/covers online and this Forum did not find any results. To be clear...I am describing removing the original black vinyl seat cover from the original seat base and foam and replacing it with a new OEM vinyl seat cover attaching with staples. This is a very easy, effective and efficient process to renew a seat. Has anyone found this to be available for Vstrom seats?

William

PS
On my recent MC trip to the Robbinsville, NC area came across the 2019 Vstrom Rally at Stecoah spontaneously without reservations. Thanks to all that welcomed me and gave me advice. Hope to join you all next year with advanced planning.

Don't know if you've checked but there's a bunch on eBay https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...acat=0&_sop=15

Also check Seat Concepts.

Big Boy,
Thanks for the leads. One of the eBay listings was for (nwclassicmotorcycleseatcovers). On their eBay webpage, they offer "2003-2012 Suzuki V-Strom CUSTOM "CARBON FIBER" SEAT COVER" fits DL650 DL1000" for $69.00 that looks close to my original OEM seat. Most of the other eBay listings were for slip-on covers and not the replacement type. I'll let you know what I buy and how it all works out.

Seat concepts seat has a "modified foam and shape". I ordered and installed one since the stock seat on my '04 had "me backside begging for mercy" after only an hour or two. I can't remember how much it was but it was well worth it. If your bottom and the stock seat get along, I'd just use the Ebay cover. If you need a more comfortable seat, contact Seat Concepts. JM2C

I have a "Hai Yent" mesh seat cover on my bike that has airmesh. (Can't post a link yet, not enough posts) It looks great, covers up cracks etc and keeps your butt cooler in hot weather. A possible cheap fix?
