The transformation has begun...

Stripping the bike down to bare bones is fun and I'm freakin knee deep now. I can't help but think this is really an awesome looking bike just as it sits in the pic below, just not legal to ride on the street.

For now, since the riding season is just underway (stupid midwest) I'm not taking things too deep. I'm going to shorten up the back end by 8 or so inches. It will be fun & painful cutting those fantastic TBR cans down but I look forward to how the sound changes, probably just louder but if the packing is tight I can calm it down a little by loosening it. I'm looking forward to getting this done relatively quickly.

The front end will include headlight and instruments so I don't know how expensive this effort is going to be. I did discover Dime City Cycle today and they carry a bunch of custom stuff.

I'll continue posting the progress.

A V-Strom bobber?? Or do you have something else/further in mind? Curious minds want to know.

Maybe you should just drop the TBR cans completely and just run straight pipes with some kind of custom tips on them.

A GPS can serve as a speedo and a mileage keeper.

While you're at it, do a SSSA to it... if you don't do it, I will (eventually)

Insert witty comment here

Sorry guys, I thought you were all in my head and know what I'm thinking.

Streetfighter, is the plan.

Shorten the rear end to the length of the seat. I'm going to keep the seat, covers under the seat and plastic boomerangs between the tank and seat for now to keep some of it 'clean'. I still want to ride it this season.

The front is going to take on some new lights and I may adapt the stock instrument cluster for now, again, so I can get some miles on it this season.

I've got to get the worn Metz Tourance tires off and some street skins before too so my work is cutout over the next few weeks.

I'll keep updating and thanks for the subscribes, the interest is a motivator.

Straight pipes would be fun but get me ticketed in my area very quickly. Love the look of the stubby cans and this is my opportunity to do it. The purists will swear and shake their heads but that is okay, I paid for them.
