@Big B , I only have $4500 to spend though. To save up enough for a 2014 will take me a year>>>>>>>> Now I don't know what the heck to do!!!! Talked to several people who have the older vstroms 2004-2007's and 8's I think, and they all love them???

Shop here in Western N C selling a 2012 1,000 with 7,200 miles, asking $5,500.00 for a comparison. Has a factory skid plate and grip guards but no other farkles that I can tell. Seems to be in immaculate shape.

@Big B , besides looks, what's the big difference between the 2014 and the older model DL1000's that make them that much more desirable....apples to oranges? I guess I just don't get it, everyone that I talk to that has vstroms from 04-09 and 2012 say they love them? One thing I can say is this about the 14 and newer V stroms, I absolutely HATE that freaking beak thing!!!
IMO, stupidest ugliest thing ever conceived to put on the front of a bike unless it has a definite and truly beneficial purpose of course.
I have found a 14 with about 7500 miles on it for $7200. I would have to save for another several months to be able to get it and by that time I'm sure it would be gone!! In my area that's the lowest priced 14 around, the rest of them around here are asking around the $8000 range!!!!!!!!!

Suspension, brakes, clutch, throttle response are just a few of the items that were upgraded on the 14 and up. 14 and down are great bikes, but they can experience stator magnet separation and clutch chudder...both can be fixed. Ride 'em both then you decide.....
