Well it seems there is at least 8 people interested so far and maybe more.

Here's a couple of gentle paved riding routes for that weekend to get the ball rolling.

Calabogie Route - https://goo.gl/maps/pD7ia83MZNKjNGKy9 - 7.5hrs/580km

Frontenace Route - https://goo.gl/maps/Yhca4U97Ya1v4BR97 - 8hrs/560km

Any suggestions for lunch spots, length of routes or whatever else - please chime in.
Don't let me plan the routes, otherwise we'll be riding from 7am to 8pm each day!

I'm looking for events to ride and nice folks to meet now that I have a V-Strom 1000, and I'm interested in this. Thanks for putting it together. I like the area; last Spring I attended the Horizons Unlimited event at Rice Lake, not far from Tweed. I went to the Trenton area for the National Air Force Museum of Canada, and took the long way home to Western New York via Bancroft-Haliburton per the ridethehighlands.ca website. Very nice trip. I'll call in to the camp and see about accommodations. Thx!

I was camping in Pembroke this past weekend ( work stuff ), and did some scouting on the way up & back.
Part of the reason my trailer is in this park, is because it is a couple of minutes away from some great riding, in just about any direction.

So as far as routes go, it's more than under control. I will have a few different ones planned, and we can decide based on what people's interests are. I'm mostly talking about Saturday. I will have something planned for anyone that's there Friday, depending on time. I will probably be there from Thursday till Monday, if anyone's interested in staying longer.

I was also thinking that because you guys have booked the cabins, we can make that kind of our meet-up place ( they are very nice inside too, if you haven't seen them). It will also give us two BBQ's to cook with. I thought for Sat night, if we all chipped in, we could buy an assortment of things to cook up at the end of the day. Breakfast each day could be in town - there's a good Mom&Pop place that opens early, and lunch would be on the road somewhere. I'll figure that one out too - Eat to Ride, Ride to Eat!

Also,

I was wondering if I should open this up to anyone on the VStrom Owners of Canada Facebook page?
I'm sure a few of us are on there, and there seems to be few from Ontario.

Anyone had anything negative related to that page? I haven't so far.

I made this into a sticky and changed the title so people don't think it's next year (2020.) If you want that changed please feel free to let me know.

My Opinion:
Vee or V= DL1000 before 2014
Vee2 or V2 = DL1000 2015 to 2019
Vee3 or V3 = DL1050 2020 to?

My Stroms:
2006 DL650: 202,000 km 125,500 miles, Sold
2012 DL650 139,500+ km, 86,700+ miles. Sold
2015 DL1000 New July 2015 205,000+ km, 127,000+ miles.

This can help preventing from cars pulling out in front of you (SMIDSY)
SMIDSY detailed report.

Some good looking routes, I made a couple small changes near tamworth to add california road and near desert lake road to add some more gravel. Very nice roads if anyone is so inclined!

For the calabogie ride a stop at the Wilno tavern for lunch would not disappoint!
