Planning stage for Newfoundland trip (Sept-16')
I'm heading from Eastern Mass to Newfoundland around the 15th of September and I'm looking for help on the route and also recommended points of interest. (for the route once I'm up there).
- Has anyone taken the longer ferry to Argentia vs the one to Port aux Basques? (on the way up)
- Favorite roads and points of interest? (also good accommodations/food stops in this areas)
- What/where to avoid while there (it's a big area to cover, I've got approx 10 days to get up and back).
The reason I ask about Argentia; I'm planning to visit St John's and also some of the eastern peninsulas, Bonavista, Twillingate and the area around Terra Nova national park. It seems like I would be backtracking a lot if I took the port aux basques ferry.
Gros Morne is another area I plan on stopping.
I'll be camping and stopping at motels (mostly motels).
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
