Alberta Rides Next Summer

Anyone planning any trips for next summer? I already have a couple of thoughts for 3-4 dayers.

I am out of Calgary

Planning a trip with my wife to Miller Motorsports Racepark at Tooele, Utah for the AMA and World Superbike races. They take place during May 29, 30, and 31. Heading south from Calgary to Whitefish, Montana. On to Missoula west on highway 12 to Grangveville, Idaho. South through Idaho into Nevada. Then straight east to Tooele. Staying at the Holiday Inn Express for 4 nights during the races. Back home on the east side of Idaho. Allowed 19 days so easy relaxing miles. Went there in June of 2007 and thoroughly enjoyed the racetrack. What a nice setup. Good view of 90 % of the track from just about anywhere.

I don't know if this counts, but while the lad is off at summer camp my wife and I will take a week and head out to the Creston area and check out local communities and properties for sale. However, the plan is to load the V-Strom on a trailer and tow it out and use it for local riding when we get to Creston. Yeah, that's sort of chicken-shit, I agree.

Cheers,

My wife and I are thinking about a 5-6 day loop over to Mt St. Helens and back up through BC to Jasper and home.

I am going to do the Kettle Valley Railway, an old mountain top mine near Invemere, Going to the sun road (with a pass into Idaho for some Garne boots fitting - if they have em in) and possibly a run into Utah to the Bonneveille Salt flats.

May not get ALL of the rides done, but trying to get some for practice - if I can get the time off in late august to ride the Dempster highway to Inuvik & maybe alaska with my buddy on his Scrambler.

Those count ?

Now flying the Team Orange colors (yes, I went to the dark Dakar side and bought a KTM...)

I've heard there are For-Sale signs everywhere out in south-central BC, on account of Albertans that bought vacation properties, and now find they're upside-down assetswise. Can't hurt to go look, see if there's a few acres with some fruit trees and a view of a lake.
