Route suggestions for Gaspé trip.

Hello all, I'm planning a trip to the Gaspé area in July. I'll be starting from Massachusetts and will be traveling through either Maine or New Hampshire to cross into Quebec.
I'm Looking for route suggestions through the Eastern part of Quebec as I approach the Peninsula, something other than driving up rte 20.
I may come back by way of the Eastern (Acadian?) coast of New Brunswick and then down through Maine, if that's any help.
Thanks in advance.

Henry.

Thank you. That looks good. I could pick it up somewhere east of Montreal if I came up from New Hampshire and the New Brunswick leg looks like what I had in mind.

For my trip I have 10 days away from work. I could take a couple more if needed.
I just did 8 days (2500+ miles) in NB and Nova Scotia/Cape Breton a week ago. My first long trip in years so I have an idea of what daily mileage suits me.
I'm hoping if the weather is good when I get up near the towns of Gaspe and Perce that I can spend an extra day there instead of rolling through without stopping.

there are not a lot of roads on the interior of Gaspé peninsula and the road along the coast is gorgeous

I also reccomend visiting the worlds tallest vertical shaft windmill in Cap Chat

Cabot trail was great when I was there last week. A bit cool but not too bad. Hardly any traffic, I did it on a Tuesday starting out from a motel in Baddeck and going in a clockwise direction (the Cheticamp side first).
Be prepared to stop once or twice for construction along the way. Well worth the ride.

It's route 132 if you want to avoid route 20.
Great scenery and twisties after Ste-Anne-des-Monts.
If you go trough Maine, I suggest you the route 27, or route 201.
