Muskoka lunch ride - October 17th

I'm planning to ride with and meet some friends at the 141 Cafe in Utterson, Ontario about 1pm on the 17th. www.the141cafe.com.

Toz, a trumpet rider, is the congenial host at the cafe. He's eager to get out riding post eating. Toz is also notable for being instrumental in saving the Sportbike Rally in Parry Sound this year when Honda and the town pulled their support.

It's about 2 hours north of Toronto - and about the same from Sudbury or Northbay on Highway 11 or 400/69

Everyone's welcome. Toz makes good pizza and great chili

Plan a different lunch stop.

We tried going there last Sunday for lunch but it was closed (for the season I think), under renovations, and had a "For Sale" sign out front.

Seemed like it would have been a great place to stop.. we were inside and they obviously were into bikes!

I've been in touch with Toz, the owner. He'll be open for lunch, and he wants to get out for a ride with us afterward. He's a long-time friend, and a Triumph wrencher and rider. The for sale sign is up because of the location of his wife's job. He's not exactly pushing to get the place sold, though. No idea why he would have been closed last weekend though.

I think he was doing renos.. he was there and was very friendly and helpful with some other stuff. I would n't mind riding with him some time in the future.

Hey KZDon. I was one of the riders that was there at 141 last Sunday.
Is the date Friday October 17th at 1pm correct?
If so, that's too bad. I'm not retired yet. I'll be thinking about your ride from my desk job.

Cheers,

Rui

That's when I'm planning to head there. I'm not retired either. I'll just be changing my outgoing message to something that sounds like I'm out of the office for something important. My assistants will cover for me...or risk their Christmas bonuses!!!

Honestly, I'm just looking for an excuse for a ride. Work and home have limited me to seeing my Strom in the garage when I take out the garbage lately. The roads around the 141 are lots of fun, I know Toz, and I know most of the OPP in the area.

Bump

My heated grips and vest are ready - planning to be at the 141 cafe about 1pm.

Sadly, Toz (the owner) won't be there today, for private reasons I understand.

It won't stop me from riding though...
