Thumbs up Bike Parking

I'm in Red Deer this week on business and outside my hotel the have deticated bike parking. I've never seen that before, usually the let you park close to the front but our own spots right beside the front door....... Too bad I've got a rent-a-cage.

Holy crap ive never seen such a thing
Around here people think motorcycles are just bicycles with motors...not much respect even though there everywhere..
I was recently in Nelson and they had small parking spaces for bikes only that was nice ...are those next to the 15 unused handicap spots and the 12 unused pregnant women spots?

We recently stayed at a Best Western in Marietta, Ohio. Not only did they have ground floor rooms we could park in front of but in the morning we were surprised to see the manager had laid towels across the seats of our bikes to keep the heavy dew off.

myth

i think the odds of getting ones bike stolen at a motel are very low , i once had a hotel tell me too put the bike in the lobby . i guess its just to keep the customer happy . i think it looks funny when you see bikes all huddled up too the front of the hotels .

Only need one

Here in Sarasota Florida, the downtown library has an asphalt parking lot. In Florida's intense sunshine (between the hurricanes, eh?) a kickstand can dig far enough into that stuff to topple your bike.

Most of the parking lot slopes significantly, and this uneven surface adds to the difficulty of parking a motorcycle there.

Not to worry. There is one space that is level and paved with concrete. This space is right near the main door, and is prominently marked "Motorcycles ONLY". It will hold two or three, and I have never seen it full when I needed to park a bike at the library. I guess they have accurately guessed how many Sarasota bikers can read.

Knot menny.
