Last spring I picked up my 2013 Wee with 12k on the odo... I've been planning ever since to take myself on a long trip, and final did. I got home yesterday after 13 days and 6,665 kms. No iron-butt by any means, but was good enough for me.
. The longest day was the first at nearly 900k to hurry up and get to the good stuff.
In order, from Southern Ontario I visited: Gaspe area in Quebec, Cape Brenton Island and the Cabot trail, PEI, Bay of Fundy, then back through the states of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and New York.
Lessons learned for me: I need better rain gear, a better seat, bar risers and an electronic cruise would be ideal. Also, plan for two full days in areas of interest instead of one: Gaspe, Cabot trail and PEI for this trip. Also, don't plan any day longer than 400-500k mid-trip. Less is ideal because then you can stop to "smell the roses" along the way.
The '13 650 now has 35k on the odo. A fresh oil change, and new tires just before the next trip and I'm ready to rock.
I can now say I have colorful map pictures to add to my signature.
. Not as colourful as many of you, but better than all white except for the home province.
