Aug 15th Vancouver to Ontario!!

So the time is finally here. I'm beginning to amass the trapping of a roadtrip and will be leaving morning of Aug 15, with fresh tires, steering damper, and all the other goodies (damned near like christmas time!!). Hoping to go to Calgary day one, then gauge the rest from there, to arrive on the 20th.

It would be great if anyone has a day(or two) off and would like to join me for part of the ride, I will be camping it along the way (site suggestions welcome) and would look forward to finally meeting some of you face to face and enjoying the company. Any of you can PM me if you're interested and I'll give you my e-mail or phone# so things could be discussed/arranged.

They don't make an emoticon to show my excitement!!!!YEEEEHAWWWWW!

What are your plans for Ontario? Do you have a specific destination? There are a few Stromtoopers around here to ride with depending on where you end up. Time willing, I'll ride almost anywhere just for shits and giggles. Fill us in.

I'll be going to a family reunion campout near Hamilton from the 22-26th, then going up to Tara (just outside Owen Sound), to see our old house. Then it's off to Cambridge to see a friend who unfortunately doesn't ride anymore(3 month coma and 2 yrs rehab after getting smoked by some chicken-S$%^ at a light who ran for the hills, never to be seen again). My wife will be flying out on the 20th with my son to meet me there. It's all pretty tight so far, but I'd certainly be up for a ride through the Golden Horseshoe with fellow strommers if time allows. It's probably going to be a typical family trip, where half the time has already been spoken for without me knowing till I get there, but I'll lie my a$$ off and get out at least once(oh, the quiet!!).

So, there's my plans as best I know them. Time will tell.

What a coincidence. You used to live in Tara? I was born and raised in Owen Sound. The older I get, the smaller the world seems. We'll have to get together and swap stories and find out if our pathes have ever crossed.

I'm heading as far as Rossland, but not until the 17th of August (as things are scheduled at the moment). My cousin and I begin an Iron Butt ride the next day - out to Regina and back.
There's a slight possibility things could get bumped up by a couple of days, though, in which case, I could be making the trip on the 15th.
You know, you only live, like, three minutes away from me.

Well, our tiiming is just off. I'll be leaving Victoria on July 27th, I think, to head back to Ontario. Would have been nice to have some company.

Hey larolco, let me know if the plan changes at all. What are you up to for the next few days?? I've got the 10th to the 13th off. Go for a ride?? Just not the 10th (wife's b-day)..... I think it'd be hard to ride with my nuts violently removed. It's a wonder I haven't seen you around. I commute every day on my blue '02, givi crash bars, SW skid plate, givi luggage, red fieldsheer jacket.....have I been spotted and just didin't know it?

I'm renovating the kitchen for the next couple of weeks, so no riding for me. I just got back from a ride down in the Cascades a few days back. I'm supposed to be going down to Oregon in a couple of weeks, but that's looking doubtful now.

I don't think I've seen you around, so our commutes must be on different roads. I travel 176 to the #1 and then west to Burnaby in the mornings. Reverse in the afternoons. I live just south of the Nikomekl, near High Knoll Park. Silver '06 with Givi bags, Pat Walsh bars/skidplate. Grey/black jacket, black helmet. Keep your eyes peeled.

I won't know until closer to the date when I'm headed east, but I'll let you know if things change.
