Corbin seats in Canada

Does anyone know where in Canada to get a Corbin or any aftermarket seat without getting screwed?

After researching the only Canadian dealer I found was over $250.00 more than in the USA. I'd get one from the USA but most of the places I looked at only ship UPS, If I go that route I'll get nailed with Brokerage Fees.

Any help is welcomed, Thanks.

You could try contacting the people with the seat and asking them if they would mind switching to USPS for you. Just mention you don't mind the extra time, or a small additional "convenience" charge to change shipping companies. (by small I mean around $2.00)

just don't use TwistedThrottle - I asked for/paid for USPS and they sent it by UPS and I got nailed with the brokerage crap fees. I despise UPS and all the additional charges they nail you with. I'd rather wait personally.

I tried and they said no. They will only ship UPS.

Did you try the Canadian distributor for Corbin? Is the price close enough or similar to what you'd pay in the U.S.? Or is it the usual stinking 25-35% increase?

Don't know if this helps, but might be worth looking into;

Good luck!

Why not call Corbin, and see if they will ship USPS? They sell direct from the factory, and they may be more than happy to ship USPS instead of UPS.

Here is my price inquiry from Corbin Canada.

Brian;

Pricing for part number S-V-STROM is $449.00 and can be built using any of the colors and materials that Corbin offers without affecting the price.

There would be a $149.00** freight charge and is usually takes between thirty-and forty-five days to get the item built and shipped to you.

The subtotal price would be $598.00 and the total price including GST would be $627.90.

You are welcome to call us at 1-800-663-1016 if you are interested in these items. We are open Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm Pacific Time.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best Regards,

CorbinCanada

**Freight charges include all shipping fees from California to Canada, all border fees, and all shipping fees within Canada.

Here is the price from ONEDA Suzuki $341.99.
Just a slight increase.

Why not have the seat shipped to a postal outlet just over the border. Pick up on of those ATV seat covers from Wal-mart ($16):

and then pack some foam under it. Enough to make it comfortable for a short ride. Pick the seat up and put it on. (Remember you will need the hardware from your old seat). Ride it back.

Bug.

Have it shipped close to the border and pick it up. Even if they ding you for taxes you'll still save a bundle. Just be nice to the customs officer when you come back and they'll usually let you go. I went to Pennsylvania for 3 days recently. I came back with a nice, new, ARAI XD3. They asked what I had to declare and I told them about $500.00 for a new helmet and they just waved me through.
