Quick run to Cowtown.

I get off work Sunday (18th) morn. The Wee will be packed and ready to roll. Doing a quick run out to Calgary, arriving around midnite(ish). Two days of farting around, and then back home again.

Shall keep my eyes peeled for fellow Troopers.

Cheers!

Accessory pricing in Cowtown.

Well, made it back safe and sound (left during that horrid rain storm Wed morn). Whilst in Calgary I went to a number of bike shops to gawk around at goodies. I noted that generally speaking, Blackfoot seemed to have the best posted retail prices on most riding goodies. GW seems to pretty much stick to the MSRP given to them by either MotoVan or PartsCanada, and Bow Cyle, yikes, they seem to tack on 10-15% extra on top of those same MSRP's.

I do like the vast selection offered by a.) lots of dealers, b.) lots of goodies as compared to Winnipeg. Wpg has only a very few dealers period, and none of them stock much in the way of riding accessories (unless you ride one of them 45 degree big-twins).

I desperatly wanted to buy something, anything....but knowing what most of the items sell for down in the US of A, I just couldnt do it. Cant justify the often 100% difference in price.

All I ended up buying was a small can of chain lube, and some plexus for the windshield (Univeral Cycle on 3a St, NE).

;(

Cheers!

ps: the rain and horrid wind lasted until Swift Current, the rain stopped, the wind changed direction so I was riding into it....ugh

Man, driving 1,450 km like that at the drop of a hat, you have got to enter one of those ironbutt competitions.

Cheers,
