question for our vstrom brothers/sisters in Quebec

Hey gang!
I am leaving the Greater Toronto Area shortly 5:30 pm. and I was wondering if any of you could tell me the name of a good place in or around Montreal to spend the night on the cheap
I am making my way down to the Halifax Nova Scotia area for a wedding on Monday.
any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance Cheers Jay

Jay, not the info you requested but if you want to avoid Montreal traffic look at route 30. It takes you south , over the St Lawrence and rejoins the Trans Can. east of Montreal. There is a toll, 4-5 bucks. I tried it this summer. It is now the preferred route.Super 8 just off the 401 at Cornwall is good if you run out of steam before reaching Montreal. It was busy during the tourist season.have a great trip .Cheers Doug

Hey jayzoni,
Sorry I missed your post. I was riding down on the coast of Maine.
Doug has the right idea if you are heading past Montreal. That hwy 30 I believe is actually only 1.50 and saves you all the traffic which can be really bad depending on the time of day and the direction you're heading. Another alternative is in Valleyfield where there are some lodgings and it is a bit closer as Cornwall is about 1.5 hrs out.
Let me know when you are back this way or give me a bit of lead time and I will check things out and maybe hook up.
Safe ride,
DannyC.
