BTW - Clinton Smout was my wedding photographer!

How to receive TSN in the States

Bright Side, I think we are out of luck, for now. TSN stands for The Sports Network, a channel that shows such events as curling, Canadian Football League games, and other sports originating in Canada.

I have not learned of any American company that furnishes TSN in the USA.

However, there is a way to receive Canadian Satellite signals even as far south as I am (latitude 28 ). In Canada, there are two major providers of satellite TV. ExpressVu seems to have a bad attitude toward American viewers, and will not help you to use their equipment in this country. Star Choice, its competition, is more cordial.

Here is how I plan to watch TSN right here in Sarasota FL. When I visit Canada in May, I will subscribe to Star Choice, using my Canadian address. When I leave Canada, I will either take my Star Choice dish with me, or purchase a Star Choice dish for use in the south. In either case I will bring the satellite receiver box with me to Florida. Then I will install a dish on my home in Florida. I will be able to watch the Argos whip the Als. (Translation: my two favourite Canadian Football League teams are the Toronto Argonauts and whoever is playing the Montréal Alouettes.) My wife will be able to watch some truly wonderful shows on TVO, a channel produced by Ontario's government and the source of some excellent shows. I think I will be paying $40 per month to watch Canadian TV; not everyone would think this a worthwhile expense; I may think the same in a few months.

I visited the headquarters of Star Choice in Mississauga Ontario last year, and was a tad turned off by their attitude, but I have mellowed in the interim ... and I have a serious case of Canada fever, which I will not treat until they do something about the weather, which they generally do in May.

So if you want to watch TSN, you may be able to find a bar that receives Canadian signals, but I think those are rare. Good hunting!

Keith

Today it was sunny and +11 (52F)in Edmonton. That was the good news. The bad news is that so far it has only melted the first couple of feet of snow so it is now only waist deep.

The Esks and who ever is playing Calgary.

I have Star Choice. In addition to all the Canadian offerings it includes all the American Networks so I guess you could say we also pay the $40 to watch American TV
We actually got Star Choice so we could listen to CKUA radio. Star Choice 828 which our previous cable provider did not carry.

There is another program on right now too, apparently 13 half-hr episodes. I have caught the first 3 so far. It is being aired on OLN here in Canada.
Its a little bit hoky, but enjoyable in the fact that they are stopping at many places I have stopped.
The web link is

I might order the set of dvd's, i think its about 90 canuck clams.

Cheers!

I watched about half of the episode of The Motorcycle Experience, it was ok but made me wish for Spring more than anything else.
