Tire time

Hey all, curious if anyone is seeing any good prices on tires for our V-Stroms here in Canada.
$160 plus and only getting 5-8k km is very expensive.

What kind of roads do you ride, and what tires have you been using?

Have you tried Pete's superbike out of Montreal? They usually have the best prices and many tires to choose from for our bikes. I have been recently using the Anakee3's and they are fantastic. Previously used the metzler tourance non-exp model and they were cheaper and also very good. I usually get about 15-22k off a rear tire.

I alo use Pete's Superbike. To get prices you do ned to setup and account (simpe email and basic info) but don't worry about it. Generaly when you order they have the tires at your place a day or two later.

I have been using the Tourance non-EXp and am very satisfied. On the 11 or so I used on the rear of my 2006 I tended to get in the 17,000 to 21,000 km. The fronts Tourances lasted roughly double the rear. Strangely on my 2012 I seem to get more mileage out of them and have gotten 20,000 to 25,000 km. on the three I have replaced (the forth is on the bike. The OEM was replaced at about 15,000 km.)

2015 DL1000 New July 2015 200,000+ km, 125,000 miles.

thanks

Thanks guys for info. I am currently on Tourance and I do like them. Thought I had not got the mileage I should but I am at 11000km on that tire now so I guess that is fair.
I will give the guys you mention in MTL a call for current pricing on the Met Tourance.

To get prices you need to logon to their web site. basically give your name and email address. Google "Petes superbike" and you will see the web site.

The newer Tourance tires are the EXP model and they wear faster. If you are riding with those, you may find that a switch to the older model (non-EXP) will give you longer tread life while still providing good grip in both dry and wet.

There is a newer new version of the Tourance called "Tourance Next" OE on the BMW 1200 GS. Here is what Metzler's web site says about it:

Quote:
The new Tourance NEXT. The Enduro street tyre that dares you to challenge any weather condition and any road

The latest generation of Enduro Street tyres, featuring new compounds, profiles, structure and tread pattern for unmatched levels of stability, safety on wet and mileage.
  • Improved wet grip and stability
  • Improved mileage over previous Tourance EXP
  • Dual Compound rear sizes
  • Ideal choice for the latest generation Adventure touring bikes
  • OE on the new BMW R 1200 GS
It says it lasts longer than the EXP, but doesn't compare it to the original.

150/70/17 tourance

Canadas Motorcycle
$167.45 with free shipping

Peters Superbike
147.95 + 18.92 shipping = 166.87

Both places show them in stock. I've never ordered from Petes but have heard great things. I've bought more then I care to admit from canadas motorcycle simply because they are so easy to deal with and have a great selection. When I order a tire, I'll add on some cheap chain lube, oil filters, etc.
