Sunday April 20th - Ontario Strom Ride

So that everyone can knows where to go I have edited this first message.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Just to clarify the time of the meet:

We are meeting at the ESSO station at Bryne Drive and Essa Road, in Barrie (same as last year) at 9am and leaving at 9:30 am.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Heavy posted this:

-------------------------------------------------------------

The route starts and ends at the ESSO station at Bryne Drive and Essa Road, in Barrie, same as last year.

Just so everyone knows, there is a Timmies right across the parking lot from the ESSO station where we are meeting.

Remember though, we have a departure time so don't be showing up late and then wandering over to get breakfast.

We will meet at the Tim's in Kennedy Commons (Progress and Wm Kitchen Rd) at 7:30 (plan to be there earlier if you need a wake up coffee) and roll out at 7:45. I plan to take 401 to 404 N, to Greenlane and meet up with the Newmarket group at Leslie about 8:10. We can then continue across Greenlane to #11, north to Bradford, west across #88 and either take 400 north or continue west to #27 ( 5 min longer) Either way we should be at the Essa Rd Esso before 9:00. (#27N becomes Essa Rd as you enter Barrie)

I will be the leader if you want, just remember that I often lead from behind.

Jim

For those meeting in Newmarket at the Esso Station at Greenlane and Leslie (just west of the end of hwy 404) I'll be there a bit before 8am and suggest we leave there no later than 8:15. That will give us time to get to Barrie avoiding hwy 400.

Last year's ride was a great success! I think a re-run is called for!

Since "The Sheppard" has decided to change his days off to miss Sunday, "Heavy" and I will be setting up the Annual Southern Ontario Spring Strom Ride. I hope you can come!

Heavy is setting up a route which should cover a lot of the great roads we did last year. I suspect we will start in Barrie and end the day in the late afternoon so plan on a full day.

This will be an easy-going ride that will welcome riders of all abilities.

More details to follow in the next week or so.

If I get my ride back by then, I'm in. It's up North right now, where I had to leave it last fall after severing my Achilles tendon and ending up in a cast for 6 weeks. My leg's almost back to normal now (a bit shrivelled still, like the rest of me LOL), but I have to wait for the snow to melt up there so I can go fetch it home.

800 km away, in the Sault at my brother-in-law's. My nephew probably spent the nicest part of the fall riding the crap out of it  while I was sittin' at home moping.

I'm good to go. Last years ride was great.
Thanks for organizing it again.

Here's a reminder of that awesome day we had last year on April 29.
