Anyone know any good roads or things to see around Huntsville Ontario? Going to go up with a couple riding buddies in June for 2 nights so we will have one full day to explore the area.

Take any 500 series roads from where you are to Huntsville and you will have a fun. Perth to Calabogie (511), Calabogie Rd (508) back and forth, 512, 514 ,515, 503, 507 (watch out there. There is a OPP half way), Elephant Rd, Peterson rd etc etc. Don't forget Old Barry's Bay Rd. Stop in Wilno for a lunch (restaurant Tavern), if you want to taste Polish cusine. PS. I just came back home (Mississauga) from Minden (Hwy 35 - very nice to Haliburton) and now planning a trip next weekend to Madawaska Valley area on my way to Pulaski , NY.

The way there and back we are good. Going to go up friday after work to peterborough then head up 28 and across to huntsville. Supposed to be a great road. The way back will be through algonquin park.

I should have been more specific in a route north, starting from huntsville in the 400km range.

Staying at the Rodeway inn as it's close to the restuarnants/bars :)

The lighthouse tower in Dorset gives a nice view.
There are many roads and routes which are much more twisty and interesting than the #28, if you are so inclined.
This thread has tons of the best Huntsville back roads listed and mapped out.
Have fun!

Juan knows roads! listen to his him and you will have a grand time ... Seriously though the park is nice to say you went through but it really is not much of a ride there are many very good roads in the area that loop around and twist and turn be fore warned though we have had a very late spring up this way and there is still plenty of sand around ,just when you least expect it ... BAMMM ..

Although you said you would take the 28 to get there, have a look at this route, which might have some roads that interest you.

Here's a decent 4 hr route where point B has a decent place to grab a bite with a view of Lake Rosseau - note that there is a some twisty, hilly gravel on this route south of Magnetewan along Old Nipissing Trail. Or this route is similar but without the gravel and puts you back in Huntsville. There really is so much to choose from once you are up there.

Safe trip.
