Vancouver Motorcycle Show

Okay. I went to the show today to check out the new Vee. Looked at it. Sat on it. Didn't do much for me. Sat on the 1000 Versys with its tiny front wheel too. Even booked a demo ride on a Multistrada.

Walked a little further. Saw the CCM GP450:

I'm rethinking everything now.

They're due to be available in Canada April or May. 40 horses (plug-in available for a further 10 ponies). Dry weight is 130 kg. Base model is going for $12500 Canadian. Looks real slick, Brembos and all.

If you're headed to the show, check it out. It's next to the TMs and MV Augustas. Maybe we could get a group buy.

I have to say, this bike was absolutely not on my list of bikes to look at. I didn't even know of its existence. I was having a look at some TM dirtbikes and happened to glance over at this thing behind them. It beckoned to me, like a next girlfriend. It really looks to be a quality bike. I believe the engine is a Rotax. Seems to be a proven powerplant, though I have no personal experience with it, or anything BMW that wasn't a Boxer.

Prototype reviews laud its offroad capability. Suspension gets a big thumbs up. The only negative I've come across is its highway power. I wonder if the 10 horsepower boost mod might take care of that. Of course, that's all from CCM's website, so they are somewhat biased.

It's BMW's old 450, they stopped making bikes with 450's in them so the plant in Taiwan is allowed to make them for whoever wants them.

Went down on my strom

I sold my Aprilia because I was broke but spent it all on upgrades for the Strom, ah well...
