Question Future Ontario Ride ?

I have a suggestion. Now that we have done 3 cruiser/sport touring – style rides, why not plan an “adventure touring” type of ride that is 50% + dirt/gravel/unmaintained roads. I had some very memorable rides like this last year on my DL650 and have also done some on the cruiser. I could lead such a ride, but I would be limited to about half the speed you are capable of due to tire and suspension limitations on my C50.

One of longest and most interesting rides I have done simply started at Terra Cotta and followed the roads that most closely follow the Bruce Trail up to Creemore or beyond. Some of these roads are very scenic and go through the Hockley Valley and the Pine River Valley. For an extra challenge, check out some of the unmaintained roads in the Pine River Valley. Some are quite rough, steep, and remote feeling and will give you a real sense of accomplishment if you can complete them without dropping the bike!! :-)

I could layout a route if you are interested.

2008 Kawasaki KLR 650 (My newest - boosted to 688 cc)
2005 Blue DL650 (sold with regret - hurt the knees)
2007 Boulevard C50 (Wife's bike)

If your nose is close to the grindstone and you hold it here long enough, in time you’ll say there’s no such thing as brooks that babble and birds that sing. These three will all your world compose: just you, the stone, and your poor old nose.

I'm definitely interested. If the timing works out, I'm in...

I'd give it a try if it was on a weekend.

Smile ontario rides

Hi Everyone

Just joined the group a couple of days ago and am enjoying all the site has to offer.
I have a small cabin just north of Bon Echo Park that I use for weekend rides from Waterloo as a Sat night place to crash. I usually leave Sat morning and return Sun around 5 pm. I'm planning on doing a few rides this fall, especially when the "colours" season starts. PM if you are interested in going along. Each day is usally 450-600 kms.

By any chance did you meet a Silver V-Strom somewhere between there and Pembrooke over the last while?

My Brother Gerhard (who has a Silver 650 with Lower fairing and shark's teeth) met up with someone that didn't have their Strom with him. I think Gerhard mentioned he lived in your neck of the woods. I am not sure where he met him but he lives in Pembrooke and is often in that area. I know he recently went to Huntsville with some friends so it could have been up there.
