One-Up Motorcyles in HOV Lanes in Ontario

For my fellow Ontario riders, I encourage you to read this article about motorcycles and HOV lanes:

http://www.wheels.ca/article/26923

It's entitled "Ontario misses an HOV incentive - One-up motorcycles still banned in lanes". The author encourages you to write the Minister of Transportation, which I have done.

Good luck. Even though it's against federal law for communities in the USA to prohibit motorcyclists from using HOV lanes on roads that get funding from the federal government, people are still getting tickets. There are too many laws from too many sources to keep track of them all.

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

HOV lanes

With an election coming up in the fall there is little chance that the government will do anything. They are all busy calling each other names and trying to get re-elected.

In the Greater Vancouver area, motorcycles are allowed in the HOV lanes whether you have a passenger or not.
