Confused???? need advice

I have been following the info about clutch chudder and was prepaired to do the work in the next week or so. I do have a slight chudder at start up in first gear(so I thought this is the begining) I went to Sturguss in Hamilton to order the parts and the parts guy said my 06 1000 strom has the new clutch basket in it??????? He said is was only 02-04 that needed the replacement. So now I'm thinking maybe my clutch is just getting worn. 50k KLMS on the bike. The other thing he said was replace with stock clutch plates better than any aftermarket. Any advice please!!

I can't imagine that 50,000 km would cause wear. Why not post it in the DL1000 section and see what other owners say?

2006 DL650: 202,000 km 125,500 miles, Sold

Chudder won't be cured long term by a new clutch. It's a bad design. If it is irritating, it can be fixed by modifying the stock basket. Otherwise, it won't hurt anything. There was a change in 2004 but that doesn't cure it. All Vee years can have it.

chudder fix - Google Search

Pat- 2007 DL650A was ridden to all 48 contiguous states. I didn't quite make it to 17,000 miles on the 2012 DL650A.
Nicknames I use to lessen typing, Vee = 2002-2012 DL1000s. Vee2=2014-2016 DL1000s. Wee = 2004-2011 DL650s. Glee = 2012-2016 DL650s

as greywolf said all 1000 have this problem no matter what year. had mine done by real shelby and no more problems. about 275.00 or so, normally the chudder only occurs from 3400-4000 rpms.

Not quite the story. About half of all Vee owners report chudder and it can happen on any year model.

Thanks guys its really not much of a problem so I think I'll just leave it >.....only happens every so often thats why I thought it was just the begining. Might be just when I'm lazy and not reving enough before letting out the clutch
