It's time to drink a toast to my late son, Lee (aka Bucko). Crikey, how time has flown, it's 11 years today since his last ride.

It's odd that, after all this time, I still get tears in my eyes on this anniversary.

I'm still riding his XJR1300.

RIP Bucko

Condolences, Ron. It would not be right if you did not remember this day.

+1 What Brookie said above.

Be sad of the loss, but smile because of the memories.

It's wonderfull that you have so many happy memories of Bucko. It's sad that a parent outlived their child and at the same same I'm glad you are able to share your happy memories of him. I. Hope that when I die people will remember me and be able to share happy memories.

Lots of love your way and thank you for sharing!

2 years ago I helped my older son purchase a dead-mint '99 Suzuki SV650 from a friend of mine, the original owner.
He sold the SV to help pay for his leftover/new '14 DL650. I'm the only tech that has ever touched the SV.
2 years later...The SV is still parked in my garage. #1 son bought all the clothing, helmet, gloves, boots, etc. He has ridden before years ago. Too busy the last 2 years setting up his business.
He'll be riding the SV this Spring, and I am somewhat conflicted : Happy he'll be riding with Dad, but a bit concerned for his safety. Eric is 35 now, but he's still my little boy...

I feel for everybody who has lost a loved one.

Sad sad loss and I feel for You. Good that You are riding His bike. In a small way it means that a little part of Him is always with You.

Its never too late to have a happy childhood
