Old Timers

Hey all! I wasn’t here at the start of Stromtroopers but it could not have been far from it, but how many are still here from the earlier days?
Earlier today, at work I saw a 650 V Strom. It brought back some really great memories! So basically I mainly want to say G’day and it’s good to see Stromtrooper still up and running.

Crikey - I didn't realise I've been here for over 10 years! I joined one year after inheriting my son's 2007 Strom.

Hey Rod long time no hear, are you still riding, going to a DR650? I think last we heard from you.
We are still riding and will be for as long as we can

Yes Ron doesn't time fly, realised earlier this year I had been on here for 10 yrs.
Thought I would mark the occasion with a quick video....yeah right turned out to be 5 videos

Good to hear from you people and thanks for your replies. Yes I’ve got a DR650. A couple of months ago, I with some others went to Birdsville. We all came from different places (Victoria, NSW, and Queensland) We all meet up in Bourke and went out through Wanaaring, Cameron Corner, Lyndhurst, Maree and out to Birdsville. There were 10 of us, we had a support vehicle that towed a bike trailer and extra petrol and all our gear, awesome!! One bloke came off on the way to Cameron Corner, shattered his collar bone and had to be flown out with the RFDS. We went out to Big Red. Not all of us made it up big red. I made it up Little Red 🙂 It was a great adventure ride! However, it was a big trip on the DR. I’m thinking about selling it now. I’ve also got a Triumph Thunderbird LT. Much more comfortable than the DR!
Yes, I’d love to go to Gloucester!

Been here since Feb '05, so I guess that counts as since 'the earlier' days.

When did the forum start?

Hey Rod,

I still get here, but very rarely.
And because of that I missed the Stinson Park soiree this year... Double disappointing because Ang sent me a personal email to put it in my diary...

I joined in '09, So that makes it over 10 years for me as well, it's but been a few years now since my last Strom.

Great montage Hugh, brought back lots of memories for me.
You and Ang would have to be our most (Aus) travelled Strommers, possibly even more in miles than Margret(can't remember her forum name) or Travelling Strom...

Peter.

I'm not in the region, but love the question. I've been wondering the same thing myself broadly and generally about teh membership. I started on VSRI about 2006, and Stromtrooper in 2007, then moved entirely to Stromtrooper when John passed.
