HaHa, NO, I'll buy you a drink for organising the ride when I arrive!

It'll be good to chat to people with good taste in motorcycles

Gleeful

A year or so back I organised a ride to Yeoval NSW, I think there was about 8 of us, I really liked the place and the people so I put $400 on the bar, when that ran dry I added some more and then the others chipped in too, all in all we put over $700 on the bar that night, the kids running around would not believe us when we told them they could get chips and soft drinks for free they just had to ask the barman.

When I was asked why ? all I could say was I had always wanted to do it and I thought it would be good for the towns economy, everybody in that bar was going to have enough money left in their pockets to go back to the pub the next night, every person in that bar insisted on buying me a drink with their own cash, that's the country way.

It was a great night and if buying that town a drink was the last thing I ever did I would have left this world a happy man.

I have worked hard and think I have been very fortunate in life so far, I'm happy to share my good fortune with others and if everybody did the same thing the world would be a nicer place to be.

Buying you lunch would be a pleasure.

If the weather was cooler, I'd go. I haven't taken my bike out of the garage since returning from the V-Strom gathering last year.

So Gleeful, Rolex, Gerrard (a Yamaha Tenere rider) and myself turned up at Bundanoon pub for lunch. Gerard and I came from Nowra up through Turpentine road via Nerriga, Bungonia and to the pub. A very nice ride, weather was cool with a little fog and light rain. After a very nice lunch headed back down to Nowra via Kangaroo valley.
Everyone who came enjoyed it, Time away on the bike is hard to find and if you wait for perfect weather (And a free weekend) you may find your riding dramatically decreased!.
Nice to meet you Gleeful, hopefully we catch up again soon.

By the time I realised it wasn't going to be hot, it was too late to ride down there.

I worked a 12 hour night shift so left home at 10:15am in a nice 22c and wearing my lightest riding gear by the time I reached Macquarie Pass I was regretting my choice of gear, it was 16c and I had my heated grips on #2, I arrived at 12:15 and got to watch the other pair ride around in circles looking for the pub

After lunch we followed Gleeful over to the coast, I like his style, slowdown for nothing & nobody !!!

After a night on the coast being entertained by Bruce and Gerrard with a few drinks I headed west to Rolex, at 11:30am it was 29c and the light riding gear was doing it's job.

By happy hour time at the pub it had reached 36c and all safety gear was abandoned for a T and shorts.

It was only when I was in the race with the sheep that I needed my boots on so the rest of the time I stored my boots and socks in the fridge, it made putting them on much more pleasant.

I left Rolex at 6pm on Tuesday, it was 39c but I had the roads to myself and made a mental note that I should do many more evening rides it was fun, by the time I got back to Macquarie Pass it had cooled to 27c and was getting dark, I stopped to add a layer of clothing and to get the biggest gap I could on the traffic in front of me so I could hit the pass at speed, it worked, I practically had the road by to myself, that would be very rare in daylight hours.

I arrived home at 9:30, it was 24c and the pool was just right.

A big thanks to Gleeful, that was a big effort you made to join us, PS; if you want a Sit&Fly seat cover PM me a address I will put one in the post.

We will try and give more notice next time so more can join in. life is short enjoy the ride.
