Getting back to this years "gathering of the clan" I do not mind the Gloucester area of anywhere there are hilly twisty roads. So I'll wait to see where everyone else thinks.

Yes, & that trendy craft stuff too.

Last time I was there a guy ordered a paddle of different craft beers, he then asked the barmaid if should drink them in any special way ?

"YES, ONE AT A TIME" was here answer, I burst out laughing, the barmaid became my best friend right there and then.

I had to go up to Dungog today to pick up a Land Rover engine. I decided to come back via East Gresford, Singleton, and Putty Rd.

I am going to go that way to Gloucester.

Putty Rd is quite good between Colo Heights and Singleton, especially through the winding sections. Many of the corners with Armco have additional steel protection below the Armco to provide additional protection for motorcyclists who slide into the railings.

It looked like they were widening some corners and fitting new Armco.

Singleton to East Gresford is also, for the most part, very good - and not straight.

East Gresford to Dungog is winding and most of it is very good but for the last few km into Dungog it's pretty rough. Dungog's streets seem to have more patches than original road surface.

Note: I was driving my air suspended Range Rover so that tends to smooth out the ride.
