I do as well - but I would worry at the consequences of attempting to pull over a hardened crim/irrational person/hoon on ice with a motorcycle. Patrol cars sometimes get rammed when the offender is out of control.

They are fine for law enforcement against law abiding citizens.

I always had to laugh at how "Sons of Anarchy" and the like can force a car to pull over or to crash.

A perfect example. The truth is that you are vulnerable on a motorcycle. Hey, I live near Toowoomba - best I hide my blue Holden.

Funny thing is I wave to them and sometime get a wave back.

The training they do before the become actual "on the road" motorcycle cops is very comprehensive as well.

I remember watching a couple of them training down in Victoria years ago, they could do things I couldn't even do on my bike that was half the size and weight of the big Hondas back then. ( they were riding on a mixed dirt/tar training circuit )

Last week's episode had one of the cops on a black, unmarked FJR.

I saw it at on the Gt Western Hwy, Glenbrook (NSW) last Saturday. It was in a bike lineup in tonight's episode.

I didn't know NSW cops used unmarked bikes.

They have been using unmarked BMW and FJR bikes for a couple of years or more now... and I believe there are a couple of unmarked sports bikes out there as well.

Used to be that the police bikes were used to train for highway pursuit in the ACT and NSW. Theory was motorcyclists need better awareness and understand the road far better than a car driver. But back then there were a lot more bike cops.

A new series of Motorbike Cops is back. It started tonight at 8pm, just after the new series of Highway Patrol.

I noticed they now have a female bike copper.

If you missed it, you can get it on Ch 7 Catch Up: https://7plus.com.au/motorbike-cops
