Good call GotaV2, Pub name first, maybe some feedback on accommodation rooms or camping., maybe price and grub. Perhaps let us know if the place has lock up for the bikes.

+1 !! My second home ...

Just thought I'd give the Bendemeer Pub a try on the way down to Gloucester, but Anthony and I stayed at the Top Pub on the way back.

They have 3 rooms shared bathroom facility.
You can park right outside room.
Staff friendly and helpful continental brekkie included.
Camping at Hot Bath approximately 3k's out of town for $5 a night.
Meal was a reasonable price and typical country pub tucker.

The Great Western -- our spiritual home more or less -- the site of our first gathering all those years ago.

There seems to be plenty of things like this already, and it has definitely been raised before and squashed due to accuracy over time I believe. It's a bit of a shame as a Strom/adventure tourer specific option would be great. I recently had a cousin ask me if I new anything about Carrieton Caravan Park in SA and also any decent cabins in Broken Hill as he was riding two up (no camping) and wanted to stay in cheap caravans/cabins. I could have checked this out for him!

Hi Steamy.

Couple of great old photos there. What a night! I ran out of fuel the next morning at the Hermidale Pub. Their bowser had not worked for years, I was to learn, and the barman siphoned some juice out of his ute, enough to get me to Nyngan. Lesson learned -- fill up whenever you can. Headwinds are fuel-economy killers.

Are you going to duck across to Quorn next year? I'm going to get in touch with Ian and Deirdre Mott for a catch up, and hopefully some of the other SA guys who were with us on the ferry to Coffin Bay. I'm thinking some sort of overnight get together in Hahndorf after Quorn, or before, whatever. I'm allowing four to six weeks for this trip. No rush to get home!

Olary SA

Olary Hotel South Aust.

Well what can I say, don't stop unless you are in desperate need, drive the 40k's to Manna Hill.

This place is falling apart with holes in the ceiling, rooms were dusty and there were cats roaming around the place.

Owners were friendly enough but that's about it so just keep going.
