In the description of your website it says the standard offset is 2.5" and that longer off sets can be requested. What does this refer to? Do these stick out different lengths from the bike? Or does the exhaust side stick out further?

Also, what exactly does the muffler lowering bracket do exactly and why would I want one?

And I just purchased a set of Nelson Rigg CL-855 saddle bags and want to get your guards for them, but your guards look pretty short and I'm somewhat worried about the bottom half of the bags bending down under your guards, if that make sense. I really doubt that if the do that they'll touch anything on the bike like the wheel, but I'm thinking best case it'll just look odd. One of the pictures you have on your site (the one with the yellow rag over the license plate) actually looks like the bags installed on the bike are the CL-855, are they? In that picture, the left bag actually looks like it's bending and folding under the guard. Maybe it just looks that way because of the lean angle of the MC on it's sidestand.

FYI I'm looking to add these to my 2017 DL650

The muffler lowering bracket is only for the DL1000. It does not apply to the DL650.

The offsets create the distance the plate is from the side of the bike. It is actually about 2.25" depending on where you measure from the bike. It is equal on both sides (symetrical).

While I have offered longer offsets, no one has ever come back and said the needed them, so it only comes up when someone reads the description. But I would be happy to oblige later if needed.

Regarding the picture with the leaning bag, I suspect the straps just needed to be tightened up a bit. There seems to be a small space between the bag and the guard at the top. The majority of the weight is actually carried by the straps across the seat, not by the guards. The forces on the saddlebag guards are mostly straight in at the post (offset). Keeping the bags up like the one on the right is best. Looks better too.
