The light bar is made of 1/4" 6061-T6 aluminum and forward enough. I believe all teh others use 3/16" cast or 5000 series aluminum. The lights can be placed above or below the light bar. My only thought about mounting is the weight. The Hellas are listed as ~6.5 pounds. Those are some pretty big and heavy lights.
But maybe more importantly why these lights. Halogen light technology was overtaken and passed by LED several years back. The newest LEDs put out more light per watt and are lighter, are smaller than halogen, and have much longer expected life. Suzuki Auxiliary LED Lighting - AdventureTech, LLC.
You can get as much as 1100 Lumen of bright white light from a 10 watt LED (or as little as 550 lumen form cheap LEDs). Halogen efficiency is somewhere around 10–50 W = 150–800 lumens.
beam pattern and light color is my priority, with the auxiliary charging system I got from Terry, wattage is not really a concern, Hella also make the 4000s in LED with comparable pattern, same dimensions & weight, less wattage, but 5x the price
you still haven't told me the dimensions other than the thickness
