OK. So I am several hours from any Suzuki dealer. I do have a Honda dealer just up the road. But quickly running up to 1000 kms and would like to change the oil. What would be my oil filter choice? NAPA is also close. And then there's Canadian tire 35 kms away.
Hondas use a different thread pitch from Suzuki. You can use a NAPA Gold 1359 from NAPA. here are other possibilities. Remember the 2 turns in the manual is only for Suzuki brand filters. Hand tight is fine for most other brands.
For better or worse I use the Fram 6018. Usually in stock at Canadian Tire. $9. For that price change it every oil change. 1 turn from seated for the Fram
Yup...and that crappy Castrol oil. Perfect example of don't believe everything you read on the internet....except for this forum...all true....most of the times
In the beloved words of Clint Eastwood....Opinions are like :asshole:'s, everyone has one..........
For those who would like to use the Bales adapter for the Purolator Pure-One PL14610 filter et al, the original V-Strom adapter at Bales Technical Service Oil Filter Adaptor will fit the Vee2. The OEM stand union has the same part number as those on the Wee and Vee.
I haven't even priced the Suzuki filter at my dealer, how much do they usually run? I just threw a Fram on at my 600 mile change because that's the only one I could find at Walmart. It was $9. I have a C-14 Kawasaki, Honda ST1300 and a Honda NC700 and they all use the same filter, the Fram for those is like $6, they look almost alike but I run Purolators in those. $3 more for a Suzuki filter what gives. I did find a couple of ML Purolators at Pep Boys but they were $12.
Correct, hence my comment about not being listed. Its one of the many areas that are different for '14.
