Hello sir. My name is Danny. I just wanted to thank you for being such a helpful and knowledgeable guy. Like you, I'm a retired wrench. I've been here a number of years and always enjoyed the general civility and much real time experience. Even though this place mourns the loss of GW, it continues to carry on. And for that I'd like to thank you for stepping up and being so present and valuable. I got out of the industry about 20 years ago, a bit before modern electronics kicked in. You sir, have kept up nicely. Please carry on.

    Sorry Brant, Chris is WRONG.
The setting should be at the middle setting as per the factory service manual, which I have.
The benefits of the correct setting have been demonstrated. The bottom setting has the engine too lean for optimal running.
The setting on a friend's '14 DL650 was directly in the middle, where it should be.
Sales are BSC forte'. Service? NOT. SO. MUCH.
Look at the post by Blaustrom replying to my posting about the TPS adjustment. He has that service manual page photocopied.
You can adjust it, or I'll do it for you for as a gift. Just let me know if and when.

    Terry,

I checked the TPS on the dealer mode screen (screen shot below) and it was at the bottom setting. I went ahead and called Chris in service at Big M and he talked about what that does exactly. Basically, he said don't change it unless there is some noticeable issue. It can create one by changing it. Did you read in the service manual it should be at the middle setting?

I am really going crazy this weekend with the son and family here. Heading to Grant's farm next so no time. Then we have a movie tonight (Hotel Royale - girls pick) and tomorrow night (First Man). Hopefully, the week will quiet down. lol

Yes, just not an everyday tool. If used for its purpose, carried on the bike and used for road side repairs, it should last a lifetime even if also used for a buddies roadside repairs when needed.

I have one that I have been using for tire changes and adjustment to gauge it's life. It is holding up, still completely functional, and I don't see an end to it's life yet, but that is not it's purpose. It is intended to be a lightweight emergency tool carried on the bike for roadside repairs.
