For Sport Touring purposes (my needs) I prefer the Puig than the Givi, because the chain guard incorporated. If one day I go off-road with knoby tires, I will change the front hugger for a more clearance one, and keep off the rear hugger.

    Best regards,

    Joan

    Hi !

The Puig do the job perfectly to protect basically the ABS cpu, and maintain cleaner the rear bike parts, BUT I do not recomend absolutely :

    1. If you go off-road, because in 5 minutes de mud block the rear wheel
    2. If you are on knobby tires, the clearance is minimum and the point (1) is worse

I do not know the Givi, but, in general, none of the off-road bikes with knobby tires have a rear hugger from stock, because the problems with the mud. Rear hugger are for Sport Touring bikes, after hours of raining drives. Out of these conditions, there are simply a cosmetic add, or directly have no sense.

    Best regards,

    Joan

Furka: I'd like to add a "hugger" to my '15 650XT and can't decide between the Puig or Givi. The pics on the web don't help. Are you happy with the Puig: (1) would it have enough clearance if I ran knobby tires, (2) with the chain guard incorporated in the Puig, is it a benefit or would you go with the Givi that doesn't have the full chain guard?

    THX
