I just bought a couple strips at auto zone and spliced into the turn signal wires. I used denatured alcohol to clean the handguards and they stuck.

Hey Norm, was just looking at the pic Grey wolf posted of your volt meter. My question though is about the ball type mount (GPS mount?) At the bottom of the pic. My bike has one of those on it from the PO. What brand is it and what type mounts go on it?.
Thanks for any info you can offer. Ride on.

Sure hope I get to meet you this Strom rally. You still ride Strom? If so, maybe we can get other WNC Stromtoopers to meet at this spring's Ironhorse rally and establish some sort of WNC riding group. Rode Dragon today. Very concerned about gravel roads here because of all the slides.Sally

The trip was a walk in the park. Or not. Actually, There were two occasions that I gazed upon rock strewn trails heading up a steep incline where, whatever good sense I have remaining called out and said " hell, lar, you'll bust a hip for sure if you try that crap". So, being old and smart (er) I rode the alternate dirt road. 3500 miles and no real gliches (no flats with six bikes). Some real great stretchs of desolate/beautiful country. I've never before ridden 65mph on a dirt road. Mutliple water crossings with one memorable submarine surfacing routine (is the water supposed to come up into your helmet?). We had only one rainy night and the mud in NM is not to be taken lightly; you will goop up, slow down and fall over. My hip hurt like hell every afternoon by 200. Damn bear knocked over our bikes in/near Steamboat Springs Co. trying to snatch an apple from one of the guy's saddlebags (the bear won). When it was over, I was very glad to put the DR on the trailer and send it home.

It was Sierra Nevada Summerfest and the Marshall Tucker Band for me:

"Saw it on a V-Strommmm, Saw it on a V-Strommmmm...................."

    Flute solo................

Had an ADVrider friend show up on his DL650 we traded KLR and V=Strom parts.

    Have you ridden the Cherohala?

No it was Sam Adams Summer Ale.
I thought it would be funny but now I have that stupid Ricky Martin tune playing back in my head, not that there is any thing wrong with that.

Apparently the Dos Equis has already been flowing freely.

Actually I did compose an ode on lap steel but Buddy took his lap steel home and I forget how it goes.

    Norm,
With regard to recommissioning the most excellent WEE. I am still thinking El Lobo Loco.
If you think about it you could write some lyrics that go with that La Vida Loca song.
I know ,I know, Ricky Martin sings it, not that there is anything wrong with that.
The chorus would sound a little something like this.
Black side down, Gray side up, Riding El Lobo Loco. and so on.
The commissioning could take place at your favorite Mexican restaurant with Dos Equis flowing freely.
    Just a thought.

Norm, All sarcasm aside, I am really sorry about your accident/injury. I too recently had some internal hdwre installed (a battery tender, in keeping with an MC forum) and the cost is so excessive that I could only laugh when I looked at the "this is not a bill but, rather a not so subtle hint as to how much money you'll (and your offspring) be paying us over the next several generations". Thats why I bought my new bike before surgery as I could not have done it after seeing the extortion note. Take care. Larry Brown

    Hello Norm,
Brenda has expressed an interest in hearing you croak, er, sing like Tom Waits. She was curious about type of tunes you play. I told her it is not banjo music, we hear enough of that here.
Just let us know when you will be performing your next Magical Mystery Tour, we will bring our own mushrooms.
Also, I wanted to mention I had a good time yesterday, great food and conversation.
    Thanks again.

I've been busy with work, very busy, I hope this is a sign of things to come. Not doing much riding lately besides errands and the occasional blast up 276 to the Pounding Mill overlook.
