I built a CGS Hawk II with a 85HP engine on it. I probably have flown over twenty different popular homebuilt planes. It was an old style tube and fabric plane. Similar in flight to a J3 Cub or Champ except a pusher and mine was a tri-gear. Easy to fly and slow at about 75-80 cruise. I put about 300 hours on it before I sold it.
Before that I flew Pipers and Cessna's for about 200 hours. If I buy another it will be a 100+ mph plane so I can get somewhere too but still Light Sport category. No medical is required - just a drivers license and you can fly one passenger.
