I had an idea to start this tread to post "ride reports" instead of using the "ride plans" tread. This will make it easier to check out up coming rides rather than having to look through all the post ride reports. It will also make it easier to look and find ride reports with out having to look at all the upcoming rides. Just a bit of organizing.
I hope you all find my suggestion a good one.

Ok, I'll start with the first ride report of this new thread.
Mr and Mrs Tombstone, Mr and Mrs Robishaw, Mr Satch, and Mrs ScottG and I met at the Maverick in Bluffdale. ![]() We headed south via Redwood Road to Elberta. The construction is almost finished on Redwood, it was nice to ride on the new pavement. ![]() Satch ![]() Ken had us stopping all day at every City's Welcome sign. This is at Mona's Sign. ![]() After the picture in Mona and then one in Nephi we deciced to have lunch at Lisa's Kitchen in Nephi. After lunch our single friend Satch left us and headed home. So Tombstones, Robishaw's and ScottG's headed for the Mt Nebo Loop. The rest of the pictures are along the loop. ![]() ![]() Harley's slowing us down. ![]() ![]() Robishaw's ![]() Tombstone's ![]() ScottG and wife ![]() Great Twisties on this road! ![]() ![]() After we got down the canyon we hit the slab for home. Michelle and I had a great time with you all. Hope we can do it again soon before it gets too cold for the wives. Lets keep this tread going.

Hey Scott, Great Idea with the thread .
Sorry I couldn't be on the last few rides with fellow troopers. But the wife has been a trooper lately. Today was our Brunch Day and she decided to ride to Sundance via Provo Canyon. Then her curiosity wanted to take the Alpine Loop, took advantage of this and did a little detour to Cascade Springs. The narrow road and many cars didn't bug her like I thought. The Wasatch Mountain Colors are just awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

The thread title says; "Utah Riders-Post your "Ride Reports" here!!" How could I ignore that??!!???!!!
I went over the Pony Express Trail yesterday, the weather was pretty close to perfect, I had the place almost to myself, in fact it was so unpopulated that several times I scared antelope off the road as I motored along. Started on the PET at Faust, and got off near Nevada. The road is a bit more washboardy than it has been in the past, I would like to know when they grade it. I wandered a bit so the miles ended up being 367 Here is a pic of Tombstone posing..... ![]() Lonely out there, ![]() Another posing pic, ![]() All in all a good day! |

I texted cavehamster at the last minute this morning to see if he was still on for his Alpine Loop ride. He was, so I met up with him in Draper and we rode over Suncrest > AF Canyon > Cascade Springs > gravel road up over to Soldier Hollow > cheeseburgers in Midway > Park City > Guardsman Pass > Down Big Cottonwood Canyon > beautiful ride up until.... *****CRASH****
![]() ...No -- Neither one of us thankfully, but a guy just ahead of us going down Big Cottonwood Canyon had a car pull out in front of him out of the Storm Mountain campground. He T-boned the car and wiped out his KLR650 and ended up in the middle of the road. He was definitely injured, but hard to tell how badly. He was probably going 55+ at the time. I suspect he had some internal injuries. His helmet may have saved him. The first thing I saw was a set of golf clubs strapped to the rear of his bike. They were wrapped into his rear wheel. At first I thought that they had come loose and gotten caught in the wheel and that's what caused the crash (we didn't actually see the impact as he was just around the bend ahead of us). It wasn't until about the time we left when I saw the car that he hit. Why he had golf clubs strapped on up the canyon is a mystery ![]() Paramedics showed up quickly followed by the Sheriff. Nothing more we could do so we went down the canyon and split off for our homes. Steve took a couple of pics with his iPhone, maybe he'll want to post them. It was a pretty sobering reminder of what can happen and why we wear the gear. It was disturbing and I was a bit rattled all the way home as I'm sure Steve was. It's never something you want to see happen. I really hope the guy is okay and makes a full recovery. His KLR is a goner, but even the most expensive bikes are cheap in comparison to the alternative outcome. I'll be practicing some emergency stopping.

Andreas: The other crash we saw earlier this year was ADV rider Hick-on-a-crick on his brand new KTM over in East Canyon. His wreck was a solo crash and, fortunately he walked away with a bruised ego and some busted up turn signals.
