Default Idle speed non-adjustable on and 07 650??????

Can the idle speed be manually adjusted on the 07 650?????
I see that while I am messing with the tbs the balancer level (home made type) is vastly different with a slight touch of the throttle. The instructions I have show to set things to a high idle state...but I can't find an adjustment. The manual says you can't adjust it. Have things changed????. At the preset idle (about 1,300 rpm) with the water levels dead even things still don't feel right. Any suggestions???

Thanks in advance

I noted this as well. I'm currently using the online 2004 model year service manual, and there of course the idle speed adjustment is scheduled, and there is a magic stop screw that you use to do it. My guess is that the ECM now controls it, but someone would have to confirm (or I'd have to actually get a copy of the 2007 service manual someday ...)

I have contacted 3 dealers today and none of them have the procedure yet. Maybe an 06 would have been a better choice

Default '07 650 TBS update...DON'T TOUCH YOUR 07's SCREWS...AT ALL!

Just got back from the local Suzuki dealer to get my FI system balanced after F_____ing it up all by my lonesome. Here's the scary part. You can not sync the FI system (TBS) without a $650 kit that Suzuki only sells to their dealers. This came right out of the back (supplemental 07' insert) of the shop's master Suzuki manual. The kit contains an uplink cable and Suzuki software that lets you fiddle with the bike's brain. Needless to say I was shocked and concerned. Apparently the pollution regulatory folks and the EU are concerned that there might be a motor or two out there that they can't totally control. The other problem with this is that the dealer doesn't have this kit...and might not get it!!!. They said that unless Suzuki requires that they have it to be a Suzuki dealer that for the volume of DLs they sell (assuming it only works for the DLs...which I doubt) they probably couldn't justify the cost. Soooo to do service on the bike you are going to the dealer boys and girls $$$$$$. The manual even requires that the system be recalibrated after a valve adjustment job. If you like the way your bike is but you think you can make it a little smoother...forgetaboutit!!!

Hi Snowcommuter, We're camping at Crown Point Fri. night if you want to join us.

So, how did the dealer balance the TB's if they don't have the kit? Or they didn't?

They didn't balance them because they don't have the kit and might not put out the $$$ to get one. I'm boned. As far as the camping I'm supposed to do the dragon in two weeks if I can find a way to sort this thing out so I'm using up all my brownie points on that trip. Thanks for the invite.

Here's the conclusion of the 07 Wee TBS saga. If you are approaching your bike with a screw driver to dial in those throttle bodies...STOP...STEP AWAY FROM THE MOTORCYCLE!!! Here's the deal…the screw all you lucky pre 07' folks have been happily turning to get those jugs slapping back and fourth nicely has changed. The new adjustment is actually deep within the throat of the throttle body itself!!! If you have moved (even slightly) the usual screw…go directly to your Suzuki dealer so they can bill you for $190ish to reset the butterflies and dial everything else in properly. The usual screw is never to be adjusted for 07+ models. As of today mere mortals can not put things back in the proper position because the 07 manuals aren't published for two more months. A supplement to the Suzuki shop manual showed up which specifically said not to touch the usual screw and if you did how to fix it. The whole computer software and cable thing is still a mystery because the shop did this without it. So there you have it. If you thing things might be a little smoother, live with it for now and put a shop manual on your Christmas list.

BTW…boy does she run nice now and the knocking seems to have diminished greatly. Dragon here I come

Geez, that sucks big time! Glad it didn't cost the $650, but $190 is still pretty steep.
