im no expert but getting the ovalised holes in the caliper to line up after the bushings are added may be an issue . in the real world any improvement is a good thing but to get to new specs would take a fair bit of skill . maybe you you could end up with calipers that are better than new after adding bushings . i really enjoy brakeing hard but dont do it to often due to the costs . if the bushing came loose it could cause a issue at the wrong moment . i think your best bet is too move on to the 2010 that is calling your name

I wonder if you could find or make a larger pin to fit the enlarged hole ?

If you examine the caliper carrier, you will see that that isnt really an appropriate or easy fix. Drilling out and installing a couple of bushings (if there is enough material) is a relativaly easy fix.

I had just wanted to know if anyone else had done this.

maybe the conversion to the gsxr 600 calipers would be a cheap fix .

mmm...lemme think for a sec here

maybe 5-10 loons for bushings

couple of hundred give or take for caliper conversion, which would more than likely require a gixer master cyl as well.

a 5 buck fix is a good thing . i keep seeing all the farkle threads and begin thinking most strom owners are wealthy . for most of us the the ownership is something we work hard for .

I can't help but wonder what caused those guides to wear out, despite the mileage he has on his bike.

I saw no other posts on the VSRI forum about this occuring with other Strom owners.
