Next time you're in Canadian Tire, check out the bicycle section.

There is a 4-pack of "Cushioned Foam Grips" branded with the name Supercycle. Each approximately 9" long, 7/8" inner diameter. They are made of dense black foam rubber. Part No. 73-2406-0

Cutting one in half is a perfect fit for one set of grips, and goes on very well with liquid dish soap. Adds about 1/2" to the outer diameter of the stock grips.

Best part of this is the total cost of the package was under $6! Enough to make 4 sets.

Have a look - YMMV but I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

(If anyone in the Ottawa area wants one of the remaining 3, let me know and I might trade ya for a coffee :) ).

Foam Grips

They came 4 to a pack. Each one was 8 1/2 " long, so I cut them in half to 4 1/4" using a razor blade. Removed the bar end weight. That part may not be necessary. Put a few drops of liquid detergent inside the grips and spread it around inside with a finger and slid them on. Then put the bar end back on. Good to go. My first farkle. They were on sale at Canadian Tire for $4.49 a pack, plus taxes. I read about it here and went for it. Here's the pics.

Hope you like them. Pics are a little blurry.

Exactly what I did, but I didn't remove the end weights.

End result just like in your pics...thanks for saving me from having to snap the pics myself (as requested).

As a side note, CT also has foam grips that have a few indented rings 'cut out'. Might be a viable alternative for those who do not want to do any cutting. (If someone's used these, I'd like to see the end result).

Great idea, went to Canadian Tire on the weekend and picked up a pack. Very nice feeling and with 4 sets for $5, quite the deal!

Thanks for the tip!:)

The best $4.00 I ever spent. Well I didn't really spend it as it was crappy tire money so it has to be the best money I didn't spend.

These work REAL well... I love 'em
